Howard Temin and David Baltimore received the 1975 Nobel Prize for discovery of reverse transcriptase, the enzyme that gives retroviruses their name. The reverse transcriptase assay is simple to perform and was widely known by microbiologists in 1985. So when Tahoe physicians called the CDC about an outbreak, the most reasonable response would have been to look for this enzyme in patient samples, if only because it makes this category of pathogen potentially the easiest to find.

After a quarter century of open ridicule we now learn that we may be the most abundant source of XMRV, and investigation of Tahoe samples was the best hope of early detection of this agent.

If it hasn't sunk in yet, XMRV does not belong to a family of pathogens called "murine prostatic cancer viruses". Its family is called "murine leukemia viruses", and for good reason. Decades of interest have been shown these viruses for their induction of leukemia and lymphoma in mice. If the CDC had not been too busy defaming the sick, they might have noted Dan Peterson's concerns over the incidence of lymphoma in his patients, or that Lucinda Bateman's PWC sister died of same.

DeRisi's microarray found XMRV in prostatic cancer, because that's the cancer they were interested in. Hung Fan, Stephen Goff and John Coffin--this nation's gamma retrovirus elite--have all endorsed in one way or another XMRV research. How long do you suppose it will be, now, before they look for XMRV in leukemia/lymphoma and estimate the last 25 year's worth of dead children?

If there are 4 million "healthy" persons in the USA with this virus in their blood, we know this virus MUST be present as a risk in the blood supply... I am alarmed by this obvious reality.... Where is the CDC, NIH, etc. ? Maybe in the 5 year plan ? Get off your asses, NOW !!

Correction... If 4% of healthy controls testing positive for XMRV holds up, that is 12 million people in the USA or 1 out of 25 persons who are donating blood. I think that would seriously contaminate the blood supply. This calamity would be appropriate for emergency stimulus funding... road paving can wait.

This definitely makes me even MORE ticked off now.. after having ME/CFS for 22yrs and to find out that they have FORBIDDEN the Medical Schools from either Teaching OR Discussing ME/CFS *URGH*
..mind you my Mother died 10 yrs ago from lymphoma and I have not even been given a proper diagnosis, because of the CDC ban and stupid "Ficticious Name" for this illness all of the Trauma that have caused all of the patients and their families and financial RUIN because they have NOT don what they were mandated to do... and now i don't even have any medical coverage after working in a hospital for 17 yrs and that was at the HEIGHT of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the mid 80's also same time I had my Tiggering Event.. and now tho I'm not old enough to get Soc Sec... because I've been SO sick and now finally bedridden with this I can't even get Disability or Medicare to afford to be tested for XMRV when my History is text box classic.. This a CRIME again Millions of the American Public.. THIS IS A PROGRESSIVE DISEASE THAT IS KILLING MY ORGANS.. AND YOU ARE PART OF THIS GENOCIDE.... YOU "WILL" BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE.... and if you don't start giving those of us w/o any medical coverage because you have IGNORED US until we are FLAT BROKE some COVERAGE *ASAP* so we can get tested for XMRV.. you will have MORE Deaths on YOUR Conscious... MORE then from the H1N1... We have already been suffering for 22-25 yrs... but we are fighters, and you already have the blood on your hands of all of those that have committed suicide because they were told it was "all in their heads" and were burdens to their families... YOUR intentional "mislabeling" and conscious LACK of Actionable Research
is a "Health War Crime." Do NO Harm? You have done NOTHING BUT HARM, physical AND Mental, financial, emotional... what have you done but degrade us? We WANT OUR XMRV TESTS COVERED "NOW." We are NOT alllowed to take the Swine flu shots, How about giving US "OUR TEST?" DO the right thing for ONCE....Do you even have a conscious? Maybe YOU are the one's with DENIAL and your Illusions are "all in your head." that THIS is not a SERIOUS ILLNESS and needs ACTION--> NOW. If you do NOT choose to act NOW, you will have even MORE evidence against you... Can YOU Handle the TRUTH? Pay for OUR Tests NOW...Please... we BEG YOU.

When I first became sick 15 years ago my Internist told me that the rates for certain cancers were higher in the CFIDS sick. Some of those higher-rate cancers were also seen in the AIDs population (e.g, a certain type of jaw cancer). That was 15 years ago. This is NOT new knowledge to some in the medical community who were dealing with the CFIDS sick and were aware of the Incline Village people and their new ailments. So, why was this viral study KILLED off by the CDC? Major screw-up then major cover-up? If there is enough paper out there to hang those that were involved who knew there might have been something to this viral study, then they need to be put in prison for murder. The person who asked how many children have died due to Leukemia/Lymphomas is correct in her anger. How many millions of children and young people are dead without a shot at life because of the CDC? And oh yea, how many adults are dead or disabled due to this criminal act by the CDC? So now, how do we get that papertrail and then how do we go about a class action suit or other lawsuit against the government? There must be away to sue the gov't, or otherwise "punish" those within the government.

We begged the CDC for almost 3 decades. We no longer BEG them, we ATTACK THEM and keep attacking in every way possible -- the media, websites, blogs, emails, requests to the GAO, Congress, and so on. And we have people like Hillary Johnson who act like a starving dog with a huge hunk of steak in their mouths...The CDC fears Hillary and that's good.
